Mountain Cafes & Sights

Both in different directions in Rondane and on the Høvringen there are cafes where you can buy everything from waffles to chocolate and other refreshments. On Høvringen you’ll find Høvringen Trading and cafe that is also worth a visit.

Høvringsvatnet and Peer Gynt Hytta

From Høvringen there is a small road 5 km into the mountain to Smuksjøseter and Høvringsvatnet. Here you are right in the Rondane National Park and can enjoy the mountain stillness and quiet with a little walk along the water or a cup of coffee in the sun. Maybe you want to go back to Høvringen trip on foot or walk 4 km inland to Peer Gynt Hytta before running back to Høvringen.

Putten Seter and the valley view

From Høvringen there is also a small road 5 km south of the mountain to Putten Seter. Here you can visit to our little mountain church, Rossbu Chapel or a enjoy good cup of coffee and sour cream waffles. Take a little walk 1 km to the view where you have superb views of the Northern Gudbrandsdalen with an elevation drop of over 600 meters.

Dovrehytta and Troll forest

Dovrehttta is located 5 km north of Høvringen and the trails goes through the Troll forest or over Vardefjell before you arrive at the cafe.
